A Word to the Wise
If one chooses to use the spin cycle of the washer to spin out their freshly dyed reeled silk yarn:
One should check first before then adding a load of clothing and running a full wash cycle.
You now have the benefit of my recent painful experience.

Been there, done that. Thankfully, not with silk! FYI - superwash isn't really superwash when you wash it with jeans. :o)

Two questions:
1) is it salvageable?
2) did it fade on anything (reds are notorious)
That's what my yarns look like after my Irish Setter tries to knit.

How sad! But untangling things can be cathartic, LOL!!!!!
Reminds me of how my mother would say, after burning something - she liked to use the oven as a drier, always look in the oven before you turn it on.
Oops. On the upside, if you're too frustrated to deal with untangling it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands- mmm, gorgeous red!

As others have said, I did that once, with kid mohair and angora handspun that I had dyed blue. I was wondering where all the fluff on the laundry was coming from before I found the felted blob.

ROFL!!! Do you know how glad I am not to be the only one who has ever done that. And then you can tell if you may have a mild case of OCD when you feel compelled to untangle the mess. :-) Maybe you could just stuff it in a crystal bowl and call it a Xmas decoration. Hugs

Great color. It doesn't look too bad. If it is silk, it didn't felt, just got jumbled and abraided, right. Did your clothes turn pink?
This is really similar to what happens when you think what a good idea it would be to run your handspun cotton through the dryer, this ensuring that your handknitted handspun cotton garment will also be able to go through the dryer.
After you untangle the skeins...
It's a beautiful color, but what a mess, if your like me I hate to untangle, I usually will buy lunch for any co-worker that can untangle my messes. At least it didn't felt. :)
Oh, my. And you can still type, I guess the sedation must have kicked in. You poor dear.
